The upgraded Kananook Train Stabling Yard has more than doubled capacity from 8 to 21 trains, boosting efficiency and reliability along the Frankston Line.

Connex was engaged early in the design phase, and worked closely with the Design consultants to deliver a coordinated BIM model and 2D steel workshop drawings.

Key outcomes of our early engagement and BIM model approach included:
✅ Final Design and Shop detailing tasks run in Parallel.
✅ Opportunities to leverage early procurement of long lead time material.
✅ Significant reduction of fabrication and constructability risks within the design phase.

✅ Steel shop drawings, models and data ready at tender stage for clear, apples to apples tendering.
✅ Improved construction program certainty.
