CG&C Group businesses Connex, CPE Construction, and Concept Rigging were engaged to deliver the structural steel and platform cladding packages on this landmark project, the group’s largest to date by both value and steel tonnage.

The total scope encompassed 575 tonnes of structural steel with a combined contract value of $10.8 million. The scale of the project represented a significant undertaking across every phase of delivery, from shop drawings and procurement through to fabrication and installation.

Connex led the shop drawing effort utilising Tekla Structures, while CPE Construction managed fabrication using Tekla PowerFab. The integration of these platforms across the group enabled efficient multi-phase modelling, detailing, and procurement — keeping the programme on track across what was a complex and sequenced delivery.

During fabrication, Connex deployed 3D Point Cloud Scanning technology to scan the feature stair elements and overlay them against the structural model. This process identified a small number of minor fabrication discrepancies, all of which were rectified prior to delivery ensuring every piece of steel arrived on site correct and ready to install. The result was a seamless installation with no on-site issues and no requirement for pre-assembly.

Temporary works engineering was provided by GMCE to support Concept Rigging throughout the installation phase, completing a fully coordinated group delivery from design through to structural completion.
